    Brushless Sparrowhawk Advice Needed

I just upgraded my car to EZRUN 4300kv motor with a 35 Esc. My reason for upgrade is for the ease of maintenance. Now i have a problem, my car comes with stock 26t pinion. Heard from a bro that TT01 pinion will not fit on the sparrowhawk spur gear due to different pitch.

Appreciate your advice. How many teeth pinion shld i use? Where to get one that can fit the sparrowhawk spur gear? If not, can i change it to TT01 spur gear & pinion?

hi.you can use the sparrowhawk stock gear ratio for your brushless.
4300 kv is about 9.5 turn brushless so convert to brush is about 19 turn.so the gear ratio for sparrowhawk which is geared for 17 turn motor will handle your brushless motor.

        Bro,
See yr manual whether can yr car handle such gearing ???
For example, a stock TT01 spur gear (61t), can only handle 19-22t pinion gear. If want lower pinion, have to change spur gear 58t - 55t.

        Thanks

I think i will stick to Speeder's recommendation since guru mentioned that the existing Spur & 26t will work fine with EZRUN 4300kv motor. Thanks bro!

Bro, the pitch for the gear most likely using same as TT01. It does not look like a 64p and 48p pinion will not fit. You can change to 64p or 48p. Just need to make sure it will fit into the space on the car.

If the stock brush motor is 17T and it runs hot cutting off the ESC then the gear ratio is probably wrong.

After changing to brushless, if the esc is still cutting off and the motor is very hot. Advice is to gear down.

              Bro,

I tested the car and run it continously for 15-20 min at 3/4 to full throttle. The motor feels slightly hot and i did not encountered any ESC cut-off.
