    Raptor Beginner's corner

Time for us to have a little tread for ourselves? Frederick, Brandon, Alvin? (and anyone else) Since all 4 of us are trying to hover... although some like myself is more like hopping than hovering...
    huh

Wanting to buy a raptor also in the near future and still doing some further research. Found the official website for thunder tiger Raptor which is www.tiger.com.tw. But it's down most of the time or always encountering network problems connecting to the site.

I have no idea.. but instead of flooding the notice to fly and the BP fliers thread... that's why I thought of having this... just to post any dumb questions that I may have...

            OK. I have a question.

I noticed that when I hover my Rap 30, it wobbles. Kind of like a slow ocsillation. You can actually see the blades turing perfectly and everything below is turining round at the axis of the main shaft.

I have tried greasing the flap dampers, changed the feathering shaft but it still does the wobble. I have just changed the main shaft but don't have the time to test fly yet.

            Any ideas?

            Thanks

erm...if you run headspeed of about 1500 you'll get a wobble....you'll have to run min at normal mode...1600 to 1700...then the woobble will disappear....try bringing up the point three of the throttle curve so you'll hover at a higher headspeed

Sorry but what is the explanation for no wobbling at higher headspeed? I am just curious cos I always feel that a "perfect" heli will not vibes irregardless of high or low rpm.

                  Hi Art,

I am aware of that, the last time I tied my tach to the tail and Frank bravedly read the speed tp be about 1900.

Good question mike...the truth is...I also dunno... ...
maybe some of the other experts here will know??

I guess this is not so much of a problem if the bird is new,....I found this to be an issue only after I crashed....hmm,....any idea?

han ah...1900 for normal mode is too high...should be about 1700....1900 can do 3D already;...and if you're using woodies then very dangerous...can result in exploding bird...be careful

                            Hi ,

I new too, still have not completed 1 gal. I have the wobbling problem when I put on my training gear. A friend setup the bird for me without the gear; it was flying perfectly till I attached me gear. What he did to rectify it is reducing the rmp and increasing the pitch. No more problem after that. I still trying to understand the logic behind this solution?

                              Hi Art,

CF blades are too expensive for learning, how are the FG ones? I actually saw some at good old Champion, anyone tried them?
