Hornet 2 or CP Humming bird??

At jethobby website the HB Elite CP is priced at S$190. Can you confirm if the price you posted is the actual pricing? That would be a bargain unless the S$150 is for HB Elite FP.
For me, the obvious choice is the HB CP as the aftermarket parts would definitely be cheaper and easier to find. Ther real question is that will the HB CP fly 3D on stock setup? I know flying 3D is still far away for most of us guys here but the bird has to deliver when we finally get to that stage.

definately the hummingbird/feda CPs
190 is pretty steep i was actually hoping for cheaper.
I dont think the CP head is that worth all that much.Maybe champion will stock the feda one for cheaper.
FDC: haha i think it'll be great if it could do basic aerobatics well out of the box. Doesnt look like the tail setup can offer very much more control. especially now with a CP when torque changes can be much faster.
seems to me we'll have to starting looking at piccolo pro tail systems or something in order to fully enjoy the CP setup and get somethign close to 3d capable.

i concurr with all of them..
If u're new to this hobby, get the Feda CP if u wanna go into CP first..
Coz it's really not that easy to fly a heli!!
And crashed are inevitable.. so unless u're filthy $$$$.. :P
Took me 4 months to start hovering!
And my hover is not perfect yet..
But i think some of them agree that it's easier to fly CP than FP..
But downside is CP helis are not so crashable..

I wasnt sure if I am wrong if I sugest a used FP feda
My reasoning is usually u crash pretty much initially while trying to learn hover. As of now, all I can say is the FP FEDA is one kind almost unbreakable. I do see the need to move on CP for better indoor and outdoor flying characteristic. But I went thru both....seems to be a lot of things goto meddle w CP machine and this actually turns me off
I ended up going back FP
I had 2CP and 1FP....the FP got the most airtime

Newbirdie: $150 is probably for the FP version of the Elite Series. I like the aluminum frame, acts as a heatsink for the motor. For starters, definitely go for the HB CP. Even at $190, its a lot cheaper than the H2 at $360. From the pictures of the HB CP, it looks like it will be just as durable as the HB FP currently is
At that price I myself would like to own one
The pricing is much better than I personally expected. There are no other micro CP's that come close to matching its price. It will definitely be a stepping stone and introduce more people to CP helis.
Derrick, the pro's tail system is actually identical. The only difference is that the B2C motor is replaced by a IPS motor but still geared like the stock one. It should be sufficient but will never be as good as a shaft driven one.-Feda Dragonfly

Fit :
yup that shiwai guy has this piccolo pro he's trashed for fun and i was quite impressed with the IPSish motor powered tail drive.
That should provide combine the output of a larger motor and static thrust that a nice big prop can produce, unlike the IPS DD tail.
i've tried dumping an ips pinion on an edf motor and putting it in but the IPS gear pitch is too small, and i'm thinking we'll need a pretty large pinion in order to get ay meaningful rpm on the tail prop too.
Yeah man, shaft drive is the way to go.
That's going to have to wait for a while though.
Either till i decide to get the money for a shaft drive heli or a shaft drive heli decides to cost the same as a feda-anything haha.

Derrick,
ya know what? The pinion i had on the IPs was 8 tooth, like the stock and didn't cost me any money and fitted perfectly, it's from a TAMIYA mini 4WD kit, part of the transmission shaft drive btw the front and rear wheel, Ask FIT he has it now. !!! Ya guys would be suprised how many other parts from TAMIYA parts can be used for micros!!!!!
There's dudes complaining of the torque shaft drive pinion for the zoom, but it's very similar to the gear transmissions on the mini 4WD.....

haha yeah. Lifting off, can be considered flying, hovering, flying around properly, nose in funnels, faux hammer head turns, all can be considered flying but dont need a CP
Unless when you say " if you can fly " you're talking basic aerobatics, mild 3d...then certainly the hornet ! because crashes are going to happen no matter what and crashing with a china heli's so much cheaper than crashign with a MS composit one.
Hmmm if you're 12 maybe the concept of a salary/NS pay/pocket money management is yet unexplored and you still have the luxury of having your parents buy you stuff !
In which case i'm very envious of you,
Sadly my days of conning my parents to by me RC stuff, mountain bike race components and GI Joe toys are over.
Now i can only get them to buy me stuff like shampoo....

What pitch is the hornet main gear.....I need to get some spare gears and dont what to have to wait for mr hobby shack to get them back in stick and then pay $8 PER PINION!!Originally posted by MicroHeli-Nut
