i flew there a couple of times . been flying there for a long time. used to fly my super cub but now decommisioned and im serving NS and ive got a new hobby (photography) and i rarely fly there now. good field. NO nitro please..

who wants to fly there ? i thought of flying again ..

actually.. i flew there for a couple of reasons ..

1) big field.
2) near my place and my gf place and my gf uncle's place
3)i fly there alone when i dont wanna bump into crowds
4) cause tanah merah flying site where i used to fly with my old kakis closed down to build condo

The changkak primary is no longer in operation, right? There is a foot path between the school and the field. Is it possible to fly nitro heli there? No 3D, just hover and fly around there. Can?

wahaha .. i like that field. windy at times.. i used to fly my supercub for 45mins ..

15mins of wind play.. 30 mins of throttle .. gliding most of the time

For info, the field at Simei just down the steps from Changkat Changi School (formerly, now being used by J... Primary School) is going going gone very soon.

HDB has already started working on the field and will be building flats there very very soon.

So anyone wishes to grab some flying time here come ASAP. I stay nearby and practise flying my Mini Dragonfly there whenever I can. I still have a big "L" (Lembu) sign on my heli and would like to meet some of you guys on this field for some flying fun and (free) flying tuition. Ha Ha!

I saw a plane circling the field beside changkat sec school yesterday ard 6:30pm. I think is easy star or glider. quite tempted to fly there, the onli consideration is the block directly infront of it. maybe can organise a FF there and meetup some of the simei bros.

Was it white and blue color, polyhedral wing? If so that was my Carl Goldberg Electra powered glider. Great thermals and I fly from the field at the junction of Simei road and Upper Changi Rd East. Always wondered exactly where the glider was around that area, now I know.

Will be flying from this field (located at end of Jalan Tiga Ratus) regularly for next few days as I'm on leave and then will be flying as often as possible till they convert yet another "green lung" field into a concrete jungle.

Do join me anyone interested in thermalling. I also fly an e-starter here but recently crashed, I think there is radio interference somewhere behind the flat on the same side as the field (not sure what is the block number). Maybe there is a power station there, so have to remember to keep clear. Nearly lost control of my glider at same spot recently, fortunately glider is slow so managed to clear interference and regain control.

At present, since have to repair the plane anyway, modifying the e-starter to straight wing (zero dihedral) hope to make it more frisky.

The field I launch from is at the end of Jln Tiga Ratus, Meragi Terrace and Meragi Close. There is another field nearby, next to the MRT track which smaller. "My" field is bigger with HDB flats on 2 sides and private houses on the other 2 sides.

I use outrunner motor on my Electra and it climbs very well, easily 50 degrees or more, so not a problem clearing the flats. Zoom for the clouds and about 15-20 seconds later shut down the motor and glide, chase crows, mimic the eagles, etc. Great fun!

I fly at any and all times I'm free. At times I also teach a neighbour to fly his powered glider. I work a very odd shift pattern so it's hard to say when I fly since it won't be a week end sort of schedule.

My e-starter is also back in action now with straight wings and twin aileron servos. Intend to try flaps as soon as I can figure out how to program the tx.
