    Beginner tips for flying Raptor

Hi guys just bump into few questions. It seems like hovering a raptor ain`t easy either. Of coz it is much more stable then an e-heli i found out that it still tough to keep it in one spot. Any tips?
How to anticipate the birds movement? I notice that people tends to adjust well in advance while i can`t even notice slight movement of the bird.... weird....

One idea is to look at the plane of the rotor blades instead of the bird itself because thats the first thing that moves. After awhile, correcting any drift becomes second nature. Remember also that by hovering too close to the ground the ground effects will cause extra instability. Just keep practicing and you'll gradually improve.

Thanks viper. Now i have a clue. Just got to figure out how to catch the ball. Nic you manage to figure out how to hover on the FMS? Btw u gonna test out your heli this weekend?

Wah don't use FMS to learn hover. Its quite pointless. Punch the throttle and the heli stays in the air............

                ...

BTW what the fuel header does? Something like spare tank? Is it a must ?

A header tank is a bubble trap...when you do acro flying...chances of the clunk in the main tank sucking air is there...so with a header the fuel is drawn through the header and thus no chance of engine leaning out or cutting....

No.. that tiny tank is not big enough.. you stil need the 0.90 tanker plane....

Arthur does that means that i can go without it during the beginning stage while i still figuring out how to hover??

Btw another issue should i learn hovering with idle up?
coz i feel that idle up heli is easy to hover than without it. Without idle up it just like hovering a dragonfly pretty tough not to lose lift....

Another thing is is that HH gyro suppose to hold the tail no matter what happen to the heli? How come in the G2 stimulator the heli still wondering about??

I notice you have an Orbit Microlader Race, whats your views on it? Planning to buy one. Has it got 1 or 2 outputs?

"by right" the HH gyro should hold the tail. but of course there are many factors which can still cause the tail to move. the most important thing is not to over control. when you over correct, instead of wanting the bird to stay in one place, it'll go another direction. what i found is that, for eg....

the bird is in a 3ft hover. it starts to drift to the right...

apply left aileron, but only a very very little bit. once you see the bird responding to the left aileron, apply back right aileron already.

try this... and very soon you'll realise you're correcting for drift even when it doesn't look like its drifting. you'll then correct even before the thing happens.

Fred...Good to have header...when you are learning to hover you may just forget time and do a unplanned autorotation....

Don't learn with the idle up throttle curve...learn with the pitch curve is oke....or you may just wanna start the conventional way...if you find idle up easy to hover and normal mode not...chances are you cird is not set up correctly...
