where to biy cc thunderird esc + tricopter

    Hi,

Does anyone know where to purchase 3 unit of castle creation Thunderbird 18A BL esc online in Singapore ?

I am building a 3 rotor machine & the 3 chinese made esc I bought is not ideal. Throttle linearity is not consistant among the 3 units. 1 motor spins up first then the other & another. Serves me right for going cheapstake.

    Regards,
    Joe Ling

    Nice project you had there

I am not sure if anyone selling them in Singapore.

You can check out aircraft-world http://www.aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=3683

You usually get it less than a week upon ordering. If you pay few bucks more for shipping, you likely to get it within 3 days or so.

Just curious whats the function of the servo on one of the "arm"

    Cheers

    Mike

      Dear HZM,

Thanks for the quick reply. Forgot to mention that I live in East Malaysia so Singapore is nearest in terms of shipping. That's why I am looking at online shops there/here.

Anyway, I don't think I can get anyone to send me the items before the weekend so I can look around. I started the build (ordered parts) end of last month & my supplier from HK screwed up & delivered essential components to Spain of all places. I paid for delivery using EMS courer hoping things will arrive quicker but that was not to be. So, after waiting & waiting for weeks, finally everything came but the esc is not up to mark. I only spent 2 nights about 3 hours each to put everything together.

Looks like more waiting for me. Sorry to sound a little frustrated - I am.

Anyway, where was I - ok the servo at one end is attached to a HH gyro to hold the tail (or head). It swivels the motor next to it to control yaw. This works on my machine. I am just not getting consistant lift from the 3 motors because of the escs. By the way, this is not something new. I am just copying someone who has done this :

      Once again, thanks for replying.

      Regards,
      Joe Ling

              Hi nixaad,

I live in Miri now though I did spend my youth in Singapore - went to primary school & Secondary school (boy school with white uniform) there.

By the way, some update on this project :

I still think that I need a better esc + possibly better gyro & reduce the exponential as the craft made big adjustments with small stick movements on the roll & pitch axis. The head holding gyro really works. I have 3 additional GY240 waiting for me to pick up. However, I do not think that I can use the hh function of the GY240. I will try using them as normal rate gyro & see if they offer an improvement over the GWS gyros.

              Regards,
              Joe Ling

                    pakkua80,

A group of us (me being the new new member) flies every Sunday at Kuala Baram starting around 3:30pm. U drive past Curtin & turn left into the same row as the shipyards - we are a little further along opposite the shipyards.

                    Regards,
