    Super Vee 27

    Look what Doraemon got me!!

Will be trying it out at PP on Sunday Zan, you better get out of my way

Man... spent all night replacing the flex shaft motor coupler on the SV after I broke the factory coupler when removing the flex shaft for a lube

The factory coupler is very crappy! It broke while I was unsrewing it with a spanner... since replaced it with an Octurer coupler... the materials of the Octurer are first class

The boat should run 30+mph out of the box... let's see how brave Doraemi is at PP on Sunday
If in doubt - add more horsepower!

... and here's the video of the SV on her maiden run... on 12 cells right out of the box (apart from the flex coupler)!! Very stable and controllable... Doraemi did not even raise one drop of sweat

I love the ''turbine like'' sound the brushless created, wish you guys had stay longer. We test run Mok's Hydro and its very promising!. Later.

Shoot! And I thought I'll be the first one to run one. I've got the yellow one too but I've switched the radio to Sanwa, so no worries of clashing!

I've a bit of modding to make it more robust and watertight.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Arr Ha!! I suspected as much... can't keep away from the Tower Hobbies catalogue eh? Well neither could I, so I ordered one from TH for Doraemi

You should also think about replacing the flex shaft coupler with an Octura item... the size is 5mm x 0.150. The Octura makes it a breeze to remove and lube the flex shaft... did it inside 5 minutes this evening after her maiden

Yes! the boat likes to take in water Thinking of fitting an auto bailer in Doraemi's boat, but dun want to drill that smooth fiberglass hull Any ideas?

Anyway MA, where is your micro Foki? Is it up and running yet?

As for me, I'm a nitro guy... afraid I'm addicted to the volatile fumes

Yeah, I wanted to stay longer too to check out Mok's micro hydro... but I had a conference call at 5pm

Anyway, Doraemi managed to shoot a short video of Mok's "experimental" hydro (click link below). He's getting very close to having it perfectly set up Can't wait to see him start selling it in his shop (i.e. JH). We (nutty boaters) need the support of LHS... and he's gone one step further to develop a local product... thumbs up to Mok

BTW, I like the T-shirt on Mok's younger son in the video... it's like me looking into a mirror

I got mine from Towers also. In fact, it came 3 weeks ago. Since then I've gotten myself the China tug boat to use as a rescue boat but of course the toy boat needs modifications too........and I don't want to run the SV27 without a rescue boat ready. So you can see why my SV27's still docked.

Did you get the Coupler from Towers also?

                            As for waterproofing, I
                            1) applied epoxy around the plywood that abuts the transom.
                            2) I removed all the hardware screwed on the transom, applied some rtv silicone sealant over the holes before reinstalling the hardware.
                            3) Applied a bit of epoxy where the stuffing tube exits the transom.
                            4) Relocate the antennae to the main hull and seal up the big hole on the cover.
                            5) It is advisable to tape the hatch.

As for my Foki, the project is in the backburner since my SV27 arrived.

That's a lot of water proofing I like your modded water pickup... should get much more water flow than the standard thru-rudder set up.

I got the flex coupler from our friend, Steve Vaccarro at OE. Doraemi's SV arrived on 2 October, but she had just left for NY and LA for a week and a bit, and I was too busy to even open the parcel. It just sat in its brown shipping box for 3 weeks until I took it out one evening to lube the flex cable... broke the coupler so waited another week before the new one arrived

Be careful not to set your trim tabs in a way that you connot remove and bend them... I found that she needed around 15 degrees of "down elevator", otherwise she porpoises like mad!! You may want the flexibility to move the batt packs forward and balance her that way instead.

I need to use my spare time to complete my nitro projects so Doraemi's SV will not be seeing any mods for a while... think it's quick enough to keep her happy anyway
