    New IOM

Just bought this new design IOM from Australia. Good design and is fast. You will neew good electronics though for her to perform. Currently using RMG 380 winch and Hitec 645 (9.6kg torque) rudder servo.

Very easy to sail as she practically sales herself with minimal trimming.

      Dear Joey,
This is the link to his site:-

Aparently there is an eye specialist in Thailand who also bought one and is sailing in Bangkok.

It is a good yacht to sail. Easy to control and is fast.
      Cheers!

          Welcome the Black Pearl

Looks like the B Brothers better look out for the new addition to Team Pasir Ris.
Looking forward to sailing with a pirate.

          Regards,

Yeah....The Ares is turning out to be quite a fast boat. Even at the hands of a crap sailor like me. When you going to sail with us? Have not seen you there in a while
            Cheers!

Well in my opinion, most of the IOM's have similar speed. Some excell at different conditions. I have a CJ1 which is as fast as any other upwind and on the beat. Not so fast on the downwind and on low wind conditions but she can point very high...higher than most however it came at the cost of acceleration.

The ares accelerates very fast and is the fastest boat downwind in the club. All in all she is a better boat than the CJ1 but in strong winds, I think the CJ1 will out sail her.

To sum it all up, it will depend on the sail setup. Get it right and you will have a fast boat. But speed does not always win the race. More importantly is tactics and strategy. My estimate...40% boat speed 60% strategy. What I like about the Ares is the fact that she sails by herself. I dont have to make a lot of adjustments to her course which gives me more time to concentrate on what is happening around the yacht which in turn improves my strategy.
