    Question on Tire Thread Direction

Hi RC Cars Bashers & Crawlers,

Always wanted to ask....Can I check what is the suggested tire thread direction for the tires between the front wheels and the back wheels for traction? Should they all be facing the same direction or opposing direction between the front and rear for better results? Or there is no difference and it is just a preference thing? See picture inserted. Any advice is appreciated

Think about it this way. The purpose for any kind of tread in a tire if for a serface that is not clean and/or dry. The tread gives dirt or water a place to go so the rubber of the tire comes into contact with the road.
You would want to point the direction of the tread pattern so it moves the dirt or water away from the center of the tire out from the sides as the tire rotates on the surface.

If your looking at a V tread pattern tire from the top down, the point of the V should point forward. This places the point of the V facing rearward on the bottom of the tire. This will move dirt and water away from the center of the tire and out the sides as the dire rotates.

Mounting the tire so the pattern is oppisite will push the dirt or water towards the center of the tire where it will be trapped and lift the tire of the road.

From your pics, bottom 1 is correct for car moving to the left direction which just like what aeromodelling said.
