    anybody tried Mack's Lipo balancer?

    hi all...
have anyone used Mack's balancer before? what does it do...does it balances as it charges, or it limits individual cell max voltage to 4.2 and let the lower cell charge up to 4.2 volts? is there an online manual??

    thank you.......

You're right in a sense on both accounts. It is actually a balancer like the suzanne version in that it shunts the cell that has the the higher voltage and allows the other cells to catch up.The metal case helps to dissipate the heat.

It also has a polyquest guard type of function too as it can detect if cells are faulty and the red led will blink and halt charge.Full charge is indicated by a steady red led.

So, its actually a 2 in 1 balancer. It works great with my chargers (astro, apache, triton and schulze).

As with other balancers, if the cells are very out of balance, then it is advisable to charge at a lower rate than 1C to get it back to health ,for if the batts are charged at 1C,the balancers may not be able to bring the individual cell voltage to closer tolerances.

Using the balancer, the voltage diff. is about 0.02v worst case and 0.01v on the average.
A good addition to your hobby needs and assures longevity of your batts.

I'm using it with Duratrex Ice, no problem at all.

The TP charger is a bit more sophisticated as it monitors individual cells and charges them to the required voltage by regulating/ bypassing the charge.
Downside is,the charge time is extended but I reckon a fix is on the way.

The good old method is still the most reliable so far.

Check out the Tahmazo parallel lipo charger, similiar to the TP charger.

PM him and he will get back to you. Put "Mack" under the Recipient Username when you PM him.

Hi! After connecting your balancer guard to your lipoly pack, the number of green LED lighted up would tell you the number of cells of your lipoly pack. If there is no flashing green LED, that would mean that your lipoly battery pack is balanced. If you encounter other problems while using the balancer guard, kindly contact me through my handphone. It would be faster.
