Eastern Soaring League - 2013 Contest Season

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ESL 2013 soaring season is here:

The current ESL calendar has contests that span PA to NY and MA to NC. There are 18 contest weekends in the schedule and most include 2 contests per weekend. Some weekends include 4 contests. You can attend one or you can attend more.

The ESL Thermal Duration division flies unlimited sailplane off winches. Full house, RES, any size, any material. If you can winch it you can fly it. You will see top of the line composite planes but you will see woodies and even foamies too.

The ESL Hand Launch Division which is based on F3K rules flying hand launched/discus launched gliders. Any material, any size and any controls that conform to F3K rules.

For the soaring wizards there is the Expert Class.
For the soaring wizards in development there is the Sportsman Class
And for those new to soaring competition most contests also run Novice

If you can fly but don't have winch experience, no problem. We can help you with the winches. In fact some pilots prefer to have someone else do the launching while they work the radio. That is just fine!

There are trophies/awards at every contest. And if you fly 5 hand launch or 6 TD you could be in the running for seasonal standings and the end of season awards.

There is no cost to join the ESL, just register for one of the contests and you are a member. ESL contests are open to any AMA member as these are AMA and ESL sanctioned events.

It is a lot of fun and a great group of people. So, come fly with us!

This is quite OK. We always welcome news or informations of oversea aeromodelling competition.
Who knows, someone might be interested and make their way there just for the fun of it and the experience.

        Totally agree !

This may not be a USA based forum but it IS an international forum, meaning anybody in the world can register and post.

Locally, a group of flyers are starting with winching, f3b and f3j ...so your post isn't out of place !
Seriously running out of ...Storage space !
