      Agenda

Following are the main topics for the townhall meeting.

      1) Collect concerns and views from aeromodellers in Singapore, particularly aeromodellers that do not belong to any clubs. These info will be processed for discussion with CAAS and RSAF.

      2) To highlight and elaborate the proposed changes CAAS is making and the possible implications to aeromodelling in Singapore.

      3) Future development for aeromodelling in Singapore to improve infrastructures, e.g. Runway, tentage, service area etc.

      4) Club formation procedures and benefits.

      5) Q and A

This meeting will be a close door event between AFS and all aeromodellers. No attendance will be taken and no reporter and representative from the authorities are invited. The main objectives of the meeting is to gather feedback from the fliers with regards to their everyday concerns at flying field and of the recent article published in the Straits Times.

Please come and contribute to the future development of aeromodelling in Singapore.

      Best regards
      AFS committee.

Hi, its great that you guys are organizing this meeting / gathering for aeromodellers. I have already made arrangements to fly tomorrow and due to transportation issues, won't be able to attend the meeting.

Firstly, a bit of self intro. I am currently flying micro planes and am currently not in any formal club, as such my points will tend to skew more towards planes. Below are my 2 cents/points as according to the agenda.

          1) Collect concerns and views from aeromodellers in Singapore, particularly aeromodellers that do not belong to any clubs. These info will be processed for discussion with CAAS and RSAF.

From the articles and discussions in our forums, it appears that there is an opinion that the agencies do know know about the different kinds of planes and helis. Therefore one point to get thru to the agencies is the different kinds of planes out there. As the people who draft the regulations are probably not into this hobby, its fair to assume they do not know the different sizes and classifications of planes and helis as well as what are the performance of the different kinds.

          2) To highlight and elaborate the proposed changes CAAS is making and the possible implications to aeromodelling in Singapore.

          3) Future development for aeromodelling in Singapore to improve infrastructures, e.g. Runway, tentage, service area etc.

Infrastructures will beg the qn who will keep the place clean and maintain the place, espacially when the field has no formal club flying there regularly. I feel putting up signs to warn the public that there may be planes being flown in an area may be a good first step to raise awareness of the hobby as well as help guide people to the flying fields.

          4) Club formation procedures and benefits.
