Can the classic be use as well?

Yes too but i deem it will be more work cos the travel range for classic is smaller compare to ML version. Thats is fr my observation.

Looks good. Any idea if its easy to convert to CNC?

I've my 3 nema23 motors, motor drive etc which hopefully can be use here.

Need too change the leadscrew like a sherline conversion?

IMO Nema23 is way too big. A suitable size will be Nema17 .. the physical dimension fit the cross section of the unimat.

I am currently seeing details of Unimat 1, will not be too difficult to get it to CNC,

I had do some test cutting. If you need a little tool/machine to perform lathe / mill, this is the machine for you.

          Cheers

Anyway this tool is cater for those not into very deep machining. Perhaps making some coupler + plate + drill sort.

                no no, serious question.

The feedrate of the above cutting is perfect man ... Can lathe the slop manually some more...

                so its not you?

                  Bro,

Can the classic mill out a hole with dia of 25mm of, say, 12mm aluminium plate?

If can, I'll just need this piece of cool tool to help me with my build than to buy assortment of tools.

looks good... what is the smallest hole it can bore.

What is the largest diameter the lathe it can clamp

The standard collet that comes with the unimat is able to clamp diameter 1mm. For 1mm shank, if you choose to drill, you can go as small as 0.1mm diameter.

If choose to bore, we deal with boring tool as small as 0.5mm

The largest diameter the chuck can hold is 56mm

                          Cheers
