Fun fly on 2 & 3 Nov 2013

Given the unpredictable weather of late, the heli-gods were gracious in granting us good weather last sat & sun for flights. Anyway, sumtin was not right with Master Koh's copter-X which resulted in a little hard landing. Not sure if it was mechanical but pictures will tell the story.

another weekend down with crashing again. This time is almost re-kit. I really need to work on my kit built up skill, not sure if able to zoom down the vibration fault that cause the gyro to go haywire. After disassemble the kit, i noticed that the turnigy 500 motor runs hot after 20 secs of 50% throttle. The vibration from the motor seems ok, but it ran hot. My esc setting is 8khz pwm and auto-timing. I have tried 6 degrees timing, but motor still ran hot. Can any bro share with me if this motor consider as cooked? Not sure if I want to repair the kit, I guess i will need the training gear next time, with no proper hovering for 3 weeks. lol, think I am slowly forget how to hover

Appeal to a buddy's 'Home-Minister' for bigger Bird

Appeal for bigger heli: Dearest XXX, as you are well aware, I have progressed by leap & bound in my flying. Even my flying buddies say so. However of late, I have come to realise that flying a TINY 500 bird simply cannot quench the fire within me. After I reach home, I would feel lousy and unstable. There's just sumtin that I really need to do...or perhaps BUY. As you can see from pics, all my flying buddies seldom buy helis. Why? Cos they have BIG birds which can fart really loud. So please, may I humbly seek your indulgence to buy a Trex700N cos it's really not that much difference from a 500 bird... If you are willing, a couple of goblins would be great. After flight, I can hang on wall for decoration, X'mas & CNY around the corner.

I promise we go tour to Europe after I buy my 700N...It's the last bird I'll ever have to buy.

It's lovely cos in the midst of rain, Victor Shi-Fu shared his priceless experience with Koh and I. A big shout to the Jedi-Master for showing guidance to the 'OLD' & impatient padawans. Hopefully with lots of coke+heavy metal music+SIM, we can all reach out for sumtin better.

Anyway, I also learnt that one single tooth on the pinion can make a whole world of difference whilst setting the governor on the esc. Crap, now I have to hunt for 15T pinion. TMD...

To some point , I agree small bird cannot quench thirst! You have to have bigger !

Bigger birds can go higher, more visible I mean & you can bang the sticks harder. .. they are just more tougher! Good luck ! Nitro would be more fulfilling, rc hubby!
