How did you mount the skid rod to the metal skid?
IIRC the metal skid at the sales does not have a slot for the rod to slide through

would it have any balance problems if mounted facing forwards instead of the legs facing back?

I did not encountered any balancing problem. But remember, for Raptor 50 you have to use a bigger size battery to counter the tail weight.
