Nice to see that you have a Scanner, it's a really wonderful plane, I had it once, but then it went to hell after a spin that didn't stop. Never tried KE on my Scanner...

Yes, it is a cheap and nice beginner plane, this plane can do KE; I did that on high level, my skill not up to Astro level yet (at low level)

Guys,really enjoy viewing all the pictures. Great shot on those pictures.Especially when the plane screaming up in the blue sky,flying low inverted flypass. Awesome.

I flew the scanner before but gave it away when moving to another plane.
Still like the scanner , its fast and fun to fly.
What is the different between a scanner and astro plane?

Hi Serpent, thanks for your complements, these pictures were taken by Jcho, good cameraman!
My SuperAstro is a balsa kit-build from "MK", this co. makes pattern planes for competitions, from japan of course, so the balsa parts fit like a song! Choice of balsa used is also competition-class, lightweight and strong, so only differences between mine and Jcho's is the weight, of course, i'm using monokote coating whilst the scanner is made of vinyl from vietnam, but seriously the scanner flew very well, very gentle when set up for novice, very agile when set up HOT! i would say very close to my Astro's flight character. Yes, you need to pop in a 50-sized 2-stroker on the scanner then it would SIZZLE in the SKY! And with 20% nitro, lots of nice smke trails in the sky, Jcho loves it!

I will probably just buy the scanner.Is OS 46 enough to make it hot?
What is a hot setting for the scanner ?

OS46 is about $170 (good price), OS50 about $230(abit more ex but power!), you decide My personal feeling is to go for the OS50, as it's the same weight as the OS46, you can drop in this 50 engine into another plane which may need more power
To make Scanner hot, make all flying surfaces full deflection, dial in about 20% exponential for aileron, elevator and rudder, then it should fly very LIVELY!

Scanner is a very stable bird...maybe it is because it is heavy.....and in terms of speed.....not bad with OS50....
