Hi, anyone tried building your own servo for custom torque and speed?
I was thinking of using a esc with reverse function and brake, attach to a large motor, when gear the output shaft with a pot. Will the motor in brake mode be able to hold the position? Will the forward and reverse speed be similar? More importantly, since more esc have slow/soft start of some sort, will the custom servo be similar to a typical servo?
