Yup... the instructor famous for his rojak oil.
He crashed my QB20H while taxing during one of the flying lessons... Spent 2 years learning how to fly from him.. he left out teaching me how to land

wow,how many of u are in secondary school this year ,I'm in sec 1
this year and i thought i would be the youngest heli flyer in singapore. it would be great if all the secondary school flyers could meet up and fly together.

i actually met him at chapion hobby the other day and when i said hi , and told him i was NCC air he looked damn frightened of me for some reason haha, like he had done something wrong that only we would know about.

ahhh.. actually if I run into him.. I won't be able to recognise him anymore... it has been that long. I think I am his 1st batch of students doing R/C instead of control-line.

another fellow saint!!! i was from st andrews pri, then st andrew's school...now in SP. helped to start the youth flying club in SAS...now got a small but slowly growing group of flying members. piccolo, which year did you grad from sas?

Hi Brandon, so sorry for the late reply. Did not realise you have asked me a question.

It's really wonderful to meet fellow Saints here! I very old Saint. Graduated in year 1981. I'm surprised to hear that you help started a R/C flying club there cos during my time, there used to be an R/C Club. It was called the Aeromodelling Club, and in those days, only the rich kids can join becos you have to have money to buy the equipment and R/C planes those days are very very expensive. I remembered dreaming to join the club and derived great satisfaction from just looking at the school mag with members posing with their planes. Mind you, they are only line control planes. Only a few senior members fly true R/C planes. But of course I do not qualify cos I'm not a rich kid. Never even dare to dream about asking Dad to buy one for me! So, just pine, salivate and stare at school mag pics.

Now that I'm working and earning my own pay, and cost of R/C stuff have come down drastically, I decided that it's about time I fulfill those unfufilled dreams. Its basically catching up with my childhood, not that my childhood is deprived but R/C flying things are something any kid could never resist and would die for. And in those days, R/C heli is unheard of!! With the advent of affordable R/C heli in recent years, I know I just have to get one!

I guess the club must have died along the way. You have done a wonderful thing to restart a good thing Brandon. You will go down in modern SA history as the father of R/C there!!!

BTW, principal was Mr Harry Tan and the "hot chick" then was Mrs Hwang. I heard that boys in the 90s are still talking about her. My goodness, she must be pretty old by now!! Good to know that something never change in SA !

currently the school aeromodelling club comes under the yfc, youth flying club. the junior members are still doing line control, but move on to indoor r/c by sec 2. heard there was a rocketry club in school last time?
