    Lead Acid Battery

    guys, I have motocycle battery that was given to me by my uncle and wanted to use it to power my battery charger in the field. What should be Amp rating for me to charge it at?

    i change them at around 5A..

    btw, lead acid battery are over for field battery.
    They are heavy and worse if you have them 2nd hand..
    they will die on you on flying field.

      you can use 11.1v for your fuel pump and glow..
      and use a portable drill as your starter.. best to use above 12v..you can start up to 90 size..

      a lead acid battery weight too much liao..

        Recharging SLA Batt

        The max recharge current is 0.1C10 ie 10% of the batt capacity. For example if the batt is rated at 7.5AH, you can only use 0.75 Amps to recharge this batt. But check the voltage of the batt as well. There are 7.5AH batt delivered in both 6V and 12V. cheers

          I must have charged with higher than 0.5C with my extreme charger, both of my batteries damaged. Cant be charged anymore

            SLA Batt

            Ouch ! don't worry, can get them almost anywhere. it's S$ 20+ for a 12V 7AH batt. Anyway the safety vent should have opened when you overcharged. Becareful the content is sulphuric acidn it burns.
