Price wise also looks like pretty close. Since the Flash comes highly recommended, I will very likely go for that even though I initially had my eyes on the Zoom Zoom
As for me I think the sniper is more value for money. Flash is nice, but abit steep for that price. You can get a decent balsa plane around that price.
To see how your plane crash? Let me fly! ;D If its doesn't crash!.....Its not a plane !
So precision landing is not always required

yea.. im intending to get the sniper, but its out of stock at skyhobbies, any idea of other LHS that carry it?
-Ehawk 2000 Pro
-Mouton 1600 EV
-AMD micro chili
-HK Kinetic800
-SF Learjet45
The Sniper/Super Zoom is definitely cheaper than the Flash. But to give the SZ better stiffness, and it has been well documented, people has swapped the provided steel spars and backbone for carbon fibre ones. Snd that's an added cost already. That's what I did for my Super Zoom then too.
The Flash has the carbon spars already. The SZ and Flash may look similar but performance-wise, the Flash wins hands down in my personal opinion. It feels really nice and light and can really slow down to a crawl if you wanted it too. And with the kind of stick time I'm getting from this plane due to its robustness and performance, I feel I'm learning more stuff at a faster rate.
But just note, really check your kit before making the payment. Check that you have the push rods for the ailerons. It is a worldwide problem, people have been reporting that they are missing push rods for the ailerons, and I'm one of them. It's a small matter though cos I got push rods lying around in my "extras" box. For the tail section, it's all pull-pull so no push rods there.

And I wonder why the Zoom Zoom is just 2 dollars less than the Super Zoom? Indeed Flash is a few bucks more than the rest.. Hmm actually size was a factor in my decision from the start - really wanted to get something not so bulky for convenient :P Don't suppose you guys would recommend any one that's even smaller than the Zoom Zoom?

My gosh thanks I've always been to their main site and didn't know their shopping site has so much more details!
haha Simon....sorry for this late reply....don't blame us for "poisoning" you huh...keke...
once you are in the shops at Fook Hai...be prepared to be tempted by many attractive items ok....such as Multiplex bipes, the Flash, lipos 3Cell at 25C...etc..cheap and good stuffs....
btw, Zoom Zoom is an older design, then came the Super Zoom/Sniper...then eventually Flash...they are all improvements over the years...other then generating sales revenue....
Zoom Zoom has shorter fuselarge..and much more maneuverable (requires some skill but you can use dual rates/exponentials to compensate responsiveness preference)....however, SZ/Sniper or Flash has longer fuselarge and much more stable for some maneuvers....maybe you can download their videos to assess how you like them.... personal recomendation if price is a constrain, go for Sniper or Super Zoom,, else go for Sniper....they are all great planes to own and keep...endless fun with them...
Hee hee I know I am a bit behind times. You guys have been flying these planes for quite a few months already right?
Well actually it seems like all ranges are between $108-$125, so not much of a difference really. I was hoping to get a small sized one, and also the other thing is the ease of setup. I'm not very experienced in setting up a plane, so now I wonder whether I would end up screwing up a nice brand new plane
Yep, tough choices, still not quite sure which way to go. But I know Adnan stongly advocates Flash, and if it's really the latest improvement coupled with easier setup and carbon rods all in etc, maybe I'll just go for that.
I've been to Fook Hai many many times already don't worry. Think I already bought whatever that can be bought haha.
Bipe - Nah, not very interested in bi-planes :P (Personal opinion ya)
Lipos - Mine are on 20C, they will do for the 3D planes right?
Props - What props are you guys using typically?
Motor - Must get a low KV one is it?
Yeah, the Sniper's is my favourite plane as of now. But do consider the Sniper/SZ too depending on your budget too and confidence in building a plane. The instruction manual for the SZ is much better than the Sniper for sure. For the SZ the instructions are more detailed giving almost precise measurements on where to put the servos and what nots.
The Flash instructions on the other hand expects you to figure the rough placement of the servos based on the picture given. Which means that you've got to do alot of planning ahead before the actual build. But if you need any help I'll be glad to list down certain things to look out for in the build of the Flash.
My setup for the SZ and Flash are as follows:
Motor: AXI2212/26
ESC: CC PH25
Batts: TP 1320mah
Servos: 4x Eskys 9g (SZ) and 4x HS55 (Flash)
Prop: APC 10x4.7 SF Prop
A 20C pack should be enough. At my current setup I pull a max of 12amps. Gives me enough power. I can get around 8 min of mixed hard 3D flying and just flying around. The climb rate's not that impressive, but I'm putting the blame on my old TP batts (1.5years and definitely more than 60 cycles) for now.

Thanks Adnan. Are these planes something that a relatively newbie will be able to set up properly? I really don't wanna screw things up the first time. Having said that, I'm now thinking if I'm getting my first 3D plane to learn and to get the firsthand experience, or if I intend to keep this one for good. I think if it's the former, I would definitely go for the cheapest one (Sniper?) and if it's the latter, maybe Flash
Otherwise, they all have about the same characteristic (like type of foam), methods and parts to replace damages etc, right?
I think the next step for me is to get down and see the babies in real life
The SuperZoom/Sniper was my third plane. And I learnt alot from it. The main thing now is for you to go to RCGroups, do a search in the electric 3D flying section and find threads relating to the SuperZoom. Read through the hundred of posts, identify and understand the issues and capabilities of the plane. Also talk to the people on the field who already have the planes. Once all that is done, go shopping (and that's the fun part).
I generally found building the SuperZoom quite fun as most of the things came together quite easily if you follow the instructions. But me being the itchy fingers that I am, had to try a pull-pull for the rudder on the Super Zoom eventhough its not in the instructions. You need mostly normal CA except when attaching the depron stab and elevator.
