    About CNC

    Hi guys,

few question about CNC machine and the programing.

    1. where/how to learn the programming?
    2. what software to use?
    3. Which CNC machine to start with? Proxxon Micro Mill MF 70 good machine? can i do manual milling process instead of using computer?

Maybe I'm asking some silly question but i really know nuts about CNC, hope some one here can help.

my objective - to machine some small parts for RC like motor mount and adapter.

    thank you

    1. where/how to learn the programming?

Frankly speaking, you don't need to learn, but good to know
most cad/cam post processor software will generate the code for you.

if you want some reference, try finding the book "The CNC workshop"
i know Ngee Ann library have this book. else the internet is full of resources.

most of the time, hobbyist like us only use a few common code.
    G-code, simple explain

    2. what software to use?
you can give Gsimple a try, only simple design but its free

Mach3 is easy to use, the demo have limited lines of code, but we can always have multiple files.
btw, Mach3 is really affordable. give Mike a call.

    3. Which CNC machine to start with? Proxxon Micro Mill MF 70 good machine? can i do manual milling process instead of using computer?

Machine choice is more or less individual or availability.

Manual cut can be done, using hand and eyes, joystick control or sending coordinate / command via software.

straight cut/drill can always be done manually, the beauty is in the curves and repetition job done without using our hands.

    enjoy.

Its a Great day, lets fly, crawl, and fight.
