How To Mount Hobbywing Platinum 160A V4 On Trex 700E

For Trex 700X, you can mount the Hobbwing Platinum 160A V4 ESC on top of the receiver mount.

But for Trex 700E, you cannot mount it this way. The way to mount this ESC is at the side of the receiver mount.
You need to trim away some portion of the receiver mount (top and front areas).

I have seen the web from the front plastic part fully cut away and a kosMik fit in there.

      My opinion:

      1. Cutting off large portion of the plastic (especially the central vertical rib) will weaken the receiver mount structure significantly. This is undesirable.

      2. A weaker structure will result in more vibration passing to the flight controller. Some flight controllers are just very sensitive to vibration, be careful.

      3. A Kosmik ESC can also be mounted on the side as I described above, even Kosmik Cool can be mounted, without cutting the central rib.

      4. The weaker structure may affect the latch for the battery tray.

If you use a metal receiver mount (from a 3rd party), it may be okay.
This metal receiver mount doesn't appear to have the latch for battery tray.
