    Transmitter Stick Tension

    Hi,

I would like to discuss about transmitter stick tension for heli flying.
What I say here is just for reference.
I understand that each flyer may have a different preference.

Besides having to tune your flight controller parameters, I think it is also import that you get the stick tension correct especially when you are getting into flying inverted.

My opinion is that the tension of elevator, aileron and rudder should be the same (particularly for mode 2), while throttle tension is lower. For your reference, my elevator, aileron and rudder tension are all 50g, and the throttle is about 20g. I find these settings is best for me.

I think it is good that you check and calibrate your stick tension.

I used a pocket weighing scale to check the stick tension. Here is how I do it.

First, please the weight scale near to the edge of a table.

Hold your tx with two hands and place the stick (which you want to measure) gently just touch on the weight scale. Make sure the stick is parallel to the weight scale surface and the tx is correctly orientated according to which stick axis you intend to measure. Gently move your tx down so that the stick will press against the weight scale, by about say 5mm. Hold your tx as steady as you can and check the reading on the weight scale.
