Since this thread is about statistics, I would like to find out what is the record time a heli flyer gave up the hobby.
From what I know, the record is 15 seconds; counting from the moment he started his first flight.
In this case, this person bought a heli built by a shop. He refused to practise on simulator.
On the first flight, the heli crashed in less than 1 second after he lifted the heli.
So, the 15 seconds was the spool up time. Heli in the air for less than 1 second.
The head speed was far too high for a newbie.
He packed up and left, never be seen at the flying field again.
Really 15 secs ??? My 2 cents, to make or break, alot
of this does really comes from the the LHS. Proper
advice, support etc is essential. Unfortunately many
are only interested selling, the more expensive the better.
Heli flying can really be much less painless & almost crash
proof for beginners. My LHS what they do & recommend
is to install a Nazar gyro. Gps etc but what's nice is this
gyro can be set in self levelling mode. This means that
you can pracitce orientation hoover, FF, figure eights etc
When you something goes wrong just release the stick
heli will just go into hoover mode
which rise of drones and autopilots systems, people will don't bother about helis and just go straight for the drones. as long it can hover and be in control, they are happy. lol.

Not surprise most people choose the easier crafts to fly.
As Alex said (not his real name, the name has been changed to protect his identity), people who fly heli are not normal.
Which implies normal people don't fly heli. I will say if you are too "normal" you can't fly heli.
Thank you but how I wish that I've got a Shi Fu to guide me.
Right now seem to enjoy buidling more. Last week just cruising
around with my G380 came in hover & before I knew it boom
strike on idle 1. What had happened, while seems like 1 signal
wire on one of the cyclic dislodge itself causing the gyro to go
berserk. Well shit happens & we just have to shrug our shoulders
& lie to ourselfs that its part & parcel of the game
What idiots ya . Lol

I am not sure if your issues can be solved by a Shi Fu. LOL.
I can share my little experience:
1. Build new heli. (2 to 3 weeks) - Dont' need to many helis. Stick to one training heli
2. Change flying field (1 to 2 months) Why move around? Stick to one to two flying fields (home ground)
3. Heli crash (1 day) spend more time on SIM, especially before trying new moves
4. Change flight controller (2 to 3 months)[/QUOTE] Stick to one FBL, Vbar !
You mean boarder line lunacy ShiFu NB ?
Haizzz that don't need cause I'm already
