    RoboCat Quad

I am not a fan of multirotor. But this particular quad caught my eye, RoboCat. The slick canopy and shape got me having a second look.

From kit to assembled, under one hour. Not bad for a quadcopter newbie, me. Looks very nice. Cant stop admiring it.

I bought the power combo from Flying Hobby for USD159. Cos I got nothing to start with except for a rx and tx.

After conversion by my flying buddy(Super-Hornet)(actually he bought it on my behalf), S$236.42 excluding shipping. You can get it around S$250+ at Skyhobbies which I found out later. So if you cant wait to get your hands on it, get directly from local. If you wana save a few bucks and rather wait for the RoboCat to appear on ur door step, get it online.

            David. Long time no see.

Do post pictures of yours. Mine would not be done so quickly. Still trying to workout how the flight controller CC3D works.

David normally takes his time on builds but you can expect nothing but good quality workmanship.

                Maybe this might help https://www.openpilot.org/download/
I guess you might need release – 15.02.02 for CC3D
i'm still new to Quad programming too. the cw and ccw is rather confusing lol

Spent another hour over the weekend to solder the electronics together and install it on the RoboCat. Also installed the motors.

Added some bright white LED to the front. The LED is somw leftovers from my own home DIY improvement and save electricity project.

Maiden my RoboCat this morning. 1st flight was nervy, first time flying such quad. 2nd flight was cautious. 3rd flight decided to be adventurous, ended up crashing it due to lost of orientation. Not east to see and behaved very very different from heli.

Lucky got take photo before flight. But no damage on the crash, props broke, thatz all.

Installed my video camera and video transmitter. It is more for aesthetic than anything else cos I cant fly FPV, it gives me a headache. Just to complete the look of RoboCat.

The plastic canopy paint came off as I was cutting it out from its moulding. Now got to redo the paint job, at least it is a clean slate for me to do.

That lens is huge! Why use such a narrow field of view though?

I hear my fren say the sony lens good. The bigger the better image quality. Me not into such stuff and will not use it as a flying aid. So just use what is cheap and available in my inventory.

With such a huge lens, how about the balance?
