they lunch a website section associated to this here:
drone, unmanned aircraft, registration, permit, operator, activity, ANR, Air Navigation Order, quadcopter, fixed-wing

they encourage you to sign up for permissions to fly in case you're in proximity of air base or above limits

I wonder, did anyone register with them?

i've register with them in regards to an event,
and officer sure sure will call you up and ask afew question.
        for example:

        1) What type of aircraft are you flying
        2) height limits
        3) Is there any brief to the event site manager or event CC for emergency procedures prior to the shoot.
        4) Any chance of flying over any pedestrian
        5) etc etc

        these are some common question

Should be awesome to fly amphibious planes in the lake there.

Are we allowed to go down to the lake or its fenced off?
