    Good day

Have a good day with quite a few flights clock today ... also tested the Telemetry on DX18 with TM1100.....but when my Ginger went too high, lost the telemetry signal.
Gone back then realise TM1100 is not full range.
Time to visit local hobby shop together with parts for my new Toy.

I have tried telemetry on my dx8 with the TM1100 paired with altimeter on my radian pro. Recorded Max of 710m. I agreed that at that height, the signal is intermittent, but still should be able to receive.

              1. I think cos mine is a foamie, position of telemetry is not so affected. I read that you need to be careful if placing radio on conposite, especially carbon fibre.
              2. I routed the long whisker antannae outside the fuslage, so that it face down and exposed to the tx when the glider is high up there.

I got a youtube video if you wondering if can be done...but glider is very small at that height. boderline madness as I eyeball that tiny speck that cannot tell which is the head or tail. But fun cos the footage taken is breathtaking...

                Correction: TM1000

I checked, sorry for error, my module is the TM1000. The telemetry module with the long whisker antanna, not the short range one....

                    Questions

                    (1) What is the ratio of flaps and alieron, as I need to cut it to separate it on the carbon model as it give choice of using just aileron or aileron/flaps ? Is it 1:2 ?

                    (2) The V-tail is suppose to set up using torsion spring, which didn;t come with my kid...and the instruction shown is for non-carbon. I am thinking not using torsion spring but going direct from servo to rudder. Make sense ?

Hi Jonathan, seeing the cash spent on such a lovely model and high end carbon I'd hate to see you add unnecessary weight to it if possible. Torsion springs are very simple to make and if it doesn't work out it wouldn't be that hard to undo or redo differently and go with an alternative method. Worth a shot for sure though.

                          Hi Jon

I normally do about about 30% flaps to ailerons.
On thermal mode, I turnoff full span ailerons, instead use the flaps as camber/reflex or elevator camber mix.

                          BTW
Hope you have super eyesight. if you like me, black don't go well with gliders. You will know when you start flying it.

Thanks rt9 for the link...no wonder I didn;t see this, as my version of the manual is dated Nov 2009.

How about dun cut the flaps?
Try flying with full control surface, like my blaster..
Taser looks cool and wun be landing hot to me..
If needed, flap the whole control surface down for landing..
                              Again just like my blaster..
