After two false maiden, finally got her bottom wet this morning!!! But the coupler slip on the flex cable when I wana throttle up. Did not bring the tools to tighten the coupler. All is not lost, took somoe pics of her bottom wet.

            Hi,

I am ok. But the boat is not. I still could not get the boat to run as the coupler keep slipping. So I will need to change the coupler to my previous one which uses setscrew to secure on the flex cable.

              Good morning Adrianli,

You know the problem with RC hobby, you spend 95% of time to settle problems
For coupler, i use this http://www.mini-meca-rc.fr/pince-3-2-3-2. As soon as your boat is ready, can you make a video ?
              Take care of you.

but no matter how much I tighten, it just doesnt grip the flex cable. Probably too much torque for it to handle.

the jetlag..... almost 5 pm. sunday night. it's time to go to east coast for satay dinner or seafood............
I was talking to my friend, and he told me the same thing, for him there is to much torque. except that people are using huge motors such lehner 3060 or 3080 without any problems.
i need to check with my friends.

                    Hi Adrianli,

I checked with my friends, first they prepare the flex cable. It's necessary to tin the cable with weld. they checked the length of the flex cable and they use H&M coupler.

                      hi adrianli,

it's better if your coupler is in stainless steel

Yup, I also think so. This coupler I am using is made out of aluminum. So now looking for suitable coupler or use back my previous one which uses setscrews.
