Not unless your flat feet are very severe and there is a long and well documented orthopaedic history of the problems that you have with the flat feet. A short sudden history of problems just before your Medical at CMPB won't be good enough unless the standards have dropped recently.

I'm also flat foot, it took them one and a half years to find out.

        Good luck!

Unless your flat feet have adverse effect when you walk or run and you have a certification from your doctorr about it maybe you can get a lower PES. MAYBE. I have absolutely no arc on my feet too. Went through two and a half years and SISPEC twice.

          Enjoy your time inside

          Cheers,

Believe me, you won't be exempted unless you have problems walking, or are a walking disaster / accident area - then the army would take all chances to make sure you would be exempted from anything holding a live weapon.

Enjoy your NS, anyway it's quite relaxing nowadays, 3 month stay in Tekong resort, sleep on the king koil mattress, food and lodging provided.

It all depends on how flat your feet is and "when you start to discover it". Once you get posted to a unit after BMT, your only chance of downgrade is to have no feet Believe me, those bastard COs will do anything to prevent people from downgrading(regardless of you have flat feet, skin problem or dislocated arm) because you determine their performance and promotion.

Hi - just go to a specialist from a restructured/govt hospital to get an assessment as well as a medical report. FOr eg, you can just call up Clinic H (I think) of SGH and make an appt yourself.

If the flat foot has nevered bothered you in sch and napfa, there is likelihood that it won't bother you in NS and you should have no reason to go below a combat PES grading. I am taking that you are not "KINGING"..... If you do get aches at your feet, lower limbs, etc you may get a letter from the specialist after they look at the extent of your condition.

The letter should be with SAF (brought with you) during your pre-enlistment medical checkup. Once you are past that, posted to a unit or enlisted, the processes is much harder - have to get real bad aches or swelling on feet, report sick in camp, go thru rounds of light duty MCs and then see if its bad enough to put thru medical board, etc. ie. very hard for condition such as flat feet.
