I was sold a bad CNC head :(

    Dear forumers,

I recently just bought a Belt CP CNC Head from HEMENDRA (see: http://www.daddyhobby.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21930) which I was happy that he had honoured to keep for me for more than a month since I accepted the deal.

The entire head assembly, sold at $160, consisted of the center hub, blade grips, washout and swashplate.

I collected the head on Sunday night (18th Mar). I briefly took apart the head and realized that loctite was not applied. During the process, while removing a ball from the swash, one simply broke with half the link stuck and I couldn't remove it. On closer inspection, I noticed the balls on the swash were badly scratched although the rest of the balls screwed out fine.

I only managed to install the head on my heli on Wed 21st Mar to test it. I was unable to track my blades despite many attempts. I've replaced my main shaft, flybar and even main blades (see: http://www.daddyhobby.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22361) and suspected something was wrong.

I told him several times over MSN that I can't track my blades and asked him if he crashed his heli. Sometimes he responded, sometimes he simply just went offline. I didn't keep the log of our conversation.

Today, I dropped by Bukit Panjang funfly and several others have helped check and witness that the CNC head is bad. I SMSed him to ask for a return, and even offered to make up for the damaged swash. These are the exact text from our SMS exchange:

Me: Hey man the cnc head u sold me cant track. Either the blade grip or center hub is bent... I wanna return tt to you. We can work out the damaged swash.

HEMENDRA: Where got such thing.u buy then use then return.wad is tis?

Me: I couldnt even fly with it

HEMENDRA: U have to set it up properly.u cant do tis at a hobby shop can u?its the same, here.once bought is bought

Me: Hey look, hobby shop stuffs are new. If i bought it faulty i can also change. Its nt like i never set up heli before. I even let ppl check. If you feel that i suck, u can set up for me to prove your head is in good cond. I make a very resonable offer. Nw u tell me what u wanna do?

HEMENDRA: Im not good enough to set up 4 u.if ur head is having problems try to solve it.dun come back to me saying u wan to return it.

Me: You can always ask the 'experts' that you know. [name censored], [name censored]. Ok, so your stand is u wont want to even offer to check and not willing to accept the return?

HEMENDRA: U alreadi checked it and accepted the deal.

Me: Hey can u be more reasonable. Hw the heck do u expect me to check if yr head is faulty without even flying it?

HEMENDRA: But i wont take the cnc head back.u have to solve it yrself.i used the head without ani problems

HEMENDRA: But once bought is bought.
I can let go with $160, but what I am most upset is that he didn't even make an offer to show or check for me.

Those who know me will know that I am not the sort of buyer who would ask to return something without a valid reason.

    You guys be the judge...

hi guys, I'm surprise to see such things happening here. I thought it would be great place to hang out but after see afew of these things going on few bad for both party. try solve the issues amicably. Thorns like these makes the local forum look bad as compared to others.

            IMHO
Sellers: don't sell spoiled stuff, coz you also don't wan to get one yourself
Buyers: Don't be a lowballer, suppose you also want the greatest return from your assets

its not what we write that makes our forum look bad
i think it's generally here in Singapore people are just so ungracious.. as you can see from the crowd every morning in the MRT
some things i've learnt from this hobby... never to buy second hand stuff, esp from kids. some have no sense of responsibility, courtesy and honesty.
and btw $160 is not exactly a bang for my buck. i could have gotten a brand new cnc head for $200, or an entire kit for $129.

hey bro, from the way he replied u, i dont think he is going to give u a refund. Seller is not wrong not to give u refund since u accepted it. Take this as a lesson learnt ba. Always check the stuff before u accept unless u trust/know the person well or willing to take the risk.

The good thing is most of the pple in the forum are nice n responsible pple, but there are always a few black sheeps like everywhere else. The local Rc community here is small, sooner or later we will know who they are.
                what's next?

when i wrote this post, i wasn't looking for my money back anymore. i had already ended my negotiations with him and decided not to reply his SMSes anymore. it's just something i want to highlight.. and vent my anger as well maybe. anyhow he sold me the head packed in a ziploc bag, how am i going to test it?

                    detach8,

buying stuffs on the market place is a gamble. not everyone are sincere about the stuffs they sell. bare in mind on not to judge the book by its cover, you will never know how the content of it will be like. try to make a verbal agreement during the transaction the next time. thats what i always do when i sell off my personal stuffs on the market place.

I know Hemendra and do not think he is the sort to cheat or sell questionable goods.

I think it is a misunderstanding and this can be resolved amicably still. Detach, bring your heli down to Punggol and let Ghostfit see lar. IMHO, I too can't track my heli blades all bling bling, switched to Carbon blades only then can track. Have you tried?

to all the those who read this thread
detach8 accepted the deal and checked the head when collecting
then he goes home and dismantles the whole head
and suprisingly he claims there is a broken ball link in the swash
he had called me a few times bout the swas h and i have offered him the best of my knowledge to how he can repair it
then after using my cnc head at a FF he claims there is smth wrong with it
i sold my cnc head in perfectly good condition to him
                        nth was broken at all
im not trying to start any arguments
but this is how it is
if there are any problems with the cnc head after he bought from me what guarantee do i have tat he didn meddle with the cnc head
i do not wish to pursue this matter ani further
if he thinks i should be a blacklisted seller
                        let it be
i myself knoe tat i sold him a good condition cnc head

ppl who knoe me knoe tat i dun do such things
my items are always in good condition
its shocking to knoe tat detach8 has created a thread on this topic
honestly wad will anione of u have done if u were in my shoes
eg:ur product is sold to a gentleman
then after he has used it he claims there are problems wid it
will u give him a full refund if u knoe tat ur own stuff is working perfectly fine??
sellers nowadays have to be aware of such buyers
im very disappointed that detach8 has taken this soo far

Agree with you. I know Justin quite well and he is not sad/worried about the $160 wasted on the CNC head which is not working well. He is upset about how the Seller actually replied him on SMS, which IMO, is very rude.
