OK Eric I see, even less than the 3W set-up that you sent me. I think I will need all the power of your suggestion....I must stop looking at all these sites it's really starting to make me a little crazy, too many choices and a lot of HIPE..... I think I am going to go with the 2W-20 set-up Eric and leave it at that......OK I'll be in touch....
Check out the picture of my new second engineer....He has some ideas for the power set-up as well.
Thanks again for all of you knowledge on this subject Eric....
Enjoy the rest of the WEEK END....

If you go for it make sure to opt for the 4S setup. 3S will certainly be to weak for your plane.

I'm not sure what this setup costs but you might want to compare it to this minimum configuration (trusted and working):

2x WeMoTec Mini Fan 480 (they have an intake lip - important as it will improve performance significantly)
          2x Typhoon 3W
          2x Tsunami SPT 36 ESC
1x UBEC - required as you use 4S Lipos
          2x Flightpower Evo20 2170 4S
Hello Eric! I decided to go with the set-up you show here, where do you suggest buying all the gear, do you know a place that carries everything?
          Thanks,
          MO

Sorry to bump this thread.I just want to know what does a tailcone do.*Is tailcone is a cone behind the fan unit?

Yes it is usually behind the fan.

                However:
Some planes have a separate tail cone that either acts as a part of the exhaust ducting or is there for esthetic's (a cover over the real exhaust duct).

Some models have no tail cone at all, as it is a part of the fuselage already (example super sniper).

Do not mistake the tail cone for the exhaust duct or the motor cover/streamliner that is used in some EDF units to try and optimize the airflow.

The thing you see on the picture behind the motor is the motor cover/streamliner.

                    What plane did you get?

Hi JieZ, did you get the BAE Hawk up?

My took off but crash briefly ...think is the C.G. problem .Very short runway required.
I use 90mm edf with a modified 3blade and a matching motor on 3S 4200mah Lipo ...but I create a cheater hole and restore the intake ring.
Plane can be repaired when I got the time.

                            Cheers and all the best.

It was designed from the ground up by an Aerospace engineer using computer modeling to identify the parameters for high performance before manufacturing even began. That performance is complemented perfectly by the smoothly contoured lines of the jet's durable, repairable EPS foam fuselage, which arrives prepainted and can be flight-ready in just 1-2 hours. A hand grip on the underside offers easy, one-person launching.
