    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the pic so far Btw, I am curious how does the vacuum helps? By removing air the the foam make it more compress and stronger?

Cant wait to see the complete project in flight

Mike the vacuum is to help holding the balsa tight onto the foam wing while the glue set, nothing to do with improving the strength of the wing. As it is difficult to ensure the balsa skin confirm to the wing profile.

Vacuum bagging help to hold down every single inch of the balsa sheet to the wing suface area. It's more efficient compare to weight hold down in foam bed because it generate great force to the balsa sheet.

We have to make sure wing core have the shape that we want, then apply thin coat of glue(probond) or epoxy to the sheet, take your time to align the sheet. Put the whole thing in the bag, seal the bag and on the vacuum. Make sure that is no leakage.

Wait for the glue or epoxy to cure, follow the instruction of the manufacture for the product that you're using.

        Thanks for viewing.

We also "kang Chiong" to see the whole plane come out!!

Today cut out all the ply rib. The wing rib slot was cut out by using hot wire method.

Can sleep well!! my wing cutted out with-out wash-out!!
receive message from RCU member :

There is a spanish quote who says " El mal paso hay que borrarlo pronto " or in english "The wrong step should be corrected quickly" Better cut new foam panels with about 3 degrees washout, Jason... you will not regret. of course, in my humble opinion.

                          Best Regards, Enrique

So i decide to built another panel wing with 3 deg wash out built-in !! Then i can sleep sweet
