Exploding Li-Po's

Recently I had my funfly suddenly start making a smoke trail! Two cells of the 5S2P 2600 pack had distintegrated inflight, lucklily not burning the model. The inside was all sooty though. It seems that one cell went taking its partner with it, but as I had adequate ventilation the fumes just blew away leaving a few burn holes in the wing. Everytging still works inluding the Expensive Jeti SC and Torcman motor.
Anyone else had this happen?

Your lipos didn't explode, the micro shorts probably caused the cell to heat up and melted the pouch.

How old was the batt? Did you balance it?

dude that aint so bad... I was on my corsair ( again ) and flying happily
2s1100 and then BoOM! Fuselage broke into 2 in mid air catching small fire which died down. servos went dead . receiver now glitchy BUT ESC AND BRUSHLESS still working

i didnt balance it cause the lipo no have balancer

i wonder how is lipo balancer work ? how u use it ? and where to buy ?

depends on brand the balancer is plugged to the lipo seperate connector for the balancer and the balancer is plugged to ur charger

This would allow the charger to charge both lipos to the same voltage
