    Lipo Charging

    Just a question guys,

Firstly i have a charger that does constant current or constant voltage charging for lipo.

Is it correct that under such logic the charger will start with cc first than top up with cv? Obviously cc will charge the lipo faster, but if the charger auto select cv, does it means that lipo will dieing soon? Say lipo half charge prior to recharging.

If it goes to cv immediately it means that you have not discharged enuf for it to go cc. The charger always goes cc first, if it goes cc and ur batt voltage already hits 4.2v/cell, the charger will go to cv. This may happen faster than you notice which results in you thinking that the charger has not gone through the cc stage. Lipos have no memory effect so it should be ok for you to charge half discharged lipos and if the charger does not go to cc mode it merely means that the lipo was not discharged alot.

I have the same thought as your Artyspec, but my other lipos can charge in 1C timing. CV can take forever thus i wonder if the cell is dieing

anyway to speed up this process?

common, if it hits cv that means battery charging is almost done, not much to wait... (unless ur using schulze where the cv may take up to one and a half hour... )
