    Drifting Cars

    Hi Guys,

I'm very inspired by the drifting videos! I wanna get one, I am actually a flyer and I own a JR 9X. Can I use a stick controller to play around? I don't wanna spend to much by having to buy an extra gun tx. Whats a good budget car to get just to drift? Is nitro good or electric? I am new at this so sorry for the generalised questions. Tamiya any good?

    Cheers

If I am not mistaken, The lastest copy of RC World ( a Japanese rc mag) from kinokuniya comes witha DVD and on this DVD there is a segment on Drifting both a GP car and EP car. They teach you how to drift and the instruction was demostrated using a stick controller.

For drifting, IMO, a EP is better as it's much easier to control. Throttle is linear. Basic models from Tamiya will be excellent choice. Stick to stock motors as you won't need speed to drift. In fact, hot motors tend to hinder rather than help.

BTW, it's much, much slower than what you see on the vids.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.
