    CC esc throttle type for hornet

    Got my himax and cc10 set up and running on my hornet quite a bit more trouble than expected but at least thigns seem to be sorting themselves up.The performance of the brushless motor is very nice.

    Anyway wanted to ask the hornet and CC phoenix using guys around ( almost everyone with a horne ? ) which non governor throttle mode they are using with the hornet.

    I'm usign the fixed rate throttle now but find the esc on activates after somethign like 44% stick.

    works for now but when i get to tuning my curves this wont be good surely.

    with auto calibrating throttle i get funny blips in power after loading the tail etc.

    So just wanted to know thanks !

    Hi Derrick

    The prefered throttle setting should be in governo mode but most of them says that the CC governo not working properly.

    So, the alternate will be fixed throttle. Auto Throttle requires u to swing your throttle from 0 to 100% in order for your CC to recognise the location.

    The CC should start spinning around 35% onward.

    If u don't mind trying new CC firmware (Still beta, v1.03B), the motor spinning is MUCH MUCH faster.

    My setting will be:
    Slowest Startup (To prevent Hornet II gear worn out)
    Timing => Up to u. I prefer longer flight time so I use lowest timing or longest flight time.
    Throttle => Fixed Throttle.
    Slow Cut off .
    Cut off Voltage for 3Cells, I use 7.5 V instead because I use Slow cut off.
    Brake => MUST BE OFF!

      If the motor only starts at 40% throttle, just adjust your low and high throttle endpoints. Here are some numbers that I used from another thread:

      "As for throttle curve, first set your end points right first. Reset your throttle curve such that its 0 at bottom and 100% at top. Make sure you have the P10 in fixed throttle mode. Adjust your low throttle end point such that when throttle stick is at 0 the motor starts. Then back it off 5-8% so that the motor stops turning. Mine is at 68%.

      Then put your throttle stick to the max and adjust the high throttle end point till the LED light up just as you hit full throttle. Mine is at 81%. Once the end points are set than we can adjust the throttle curve percentages so that it makes use of the full range of 0-100% given."
