...let's just assume I put aside my aversion to GP cars and talk about buggies.

1. Are there any kits out there that is 0% fixed. I like to build my own cars.

2. What would be good? I don't care about brand. As long as:
a. It is below $600
b. Has good parts support.

3. I know somebody will mention Hyper 7 or X1-CR. But does it come fully UNassembled?

You've hit the nail! Hyper7! I think the basic version comes as a kit. Please check with Winnie. Ofna markets the Hyper7 TQ as a kit.

I think for hyper7, WHS only have kit version for the pro version
