    Tyres for 2WD stadium truck.

I got a T4 stadium truck. 2WD. I usually play at FArmway. The track there is sandy when dry, muddy/wet sand when wet. Currently I use a Proline Dirt Hawg 2 for front and rear.

On a dry day (sandy), my rear wheels spin out of control when I apply full throttle, even on the straightway. If I slow down, I can get my truck under control. My truck can spin in circles from lack of traction.

I see people driving 1/8 buggies tearing down the straightways and powering into corners without spinning out.

Is it the tyres they use? What type of tyres can I use? Do I need to use the same for all 4 wheels?

    Thank you!

Try Bow Ties (Proline) for the rears. Front use the same ribbed tyres. It's on all 2WD buggies/ST for a reason.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Thanks! Hmm. Ok. I guess function does override form after all.

So you are saying the Bow Ties give better traction on sandy surfaces?

4WD buggies not common or cheap! Team Losi's XXX4 G+ going for $500+! The one by Academy/MRC no one bring in.

It's one of the fav tyres for offroaders. Of course the law of physics still applies.

500+ for XXX4 G+? I'll get a bigger, badder, faster 1/8 Hyper 7 for less than $500 and with a .21 engine thrown in too. And you'll be able to corner like the other buggies you saw.

Heheh. Don't I know it. I sometimes think of the H7 at Winnie's. But then I think of all the parts on a GP truck and the frustrations.... I'm EP all the way.

Probably. But a hobby should be fun, not frustrating.

It's always frustrating when you try to do it on your own.
