I bought one of these used. No manual. I already have a Hitec CRX.
Mx-3s I think need manual. Or else a bit confusing. Other than that, quite easy to use.
If you have more than 1 car (say 3 or 4) and don't mind ripping Rx from one car and sticking to another, then you will save $ on getting new RX and xtals for each car. Me, I get a new Rx and xtal for each car I have, using my CRX. I rarely use 3s.

But I think 3s can last for quite awhile.

Hi Mad Armour thanks for the info. Anyone know how much is selling in sg? How does it stand between MX-3S and CRX which is better for beginners?

Hmm. I haven't really used the 3s, but I think the 2 systems are quite similar. CRX can get synthesized module (Spectra module) to replace the normal Tx module. But must pay something like $180 for the Spectra, not including the synthesized Rx, I think.
3s has fewer than 10 memories, I think (for 10 different vehicles), CRX got 20. I feel navigating thru CRX menu is easier and more intuitive than 3s. But I think this may be becos I don't have the manual.
Anyway, I started with the CRX about 4 months back. I think between the two, you won't go far wrong choosing either one. But for CRX, if u r like me, pls bear in mind you would still need to get RX and xtal for EACH and EVERY car you own. That equals BIG expenditure, given the DCX Rx = $76, dual-conversion xtal = $13. $90 extra per car.
Also, if you get CRX, try not to get the 40mHz one. If you want to get xtra 40mHz DCX Rx, it's been out of stock for a long time. (So I have to poach Rx frm other cars).
Sorry, not a terribly objective 'review' or recommendation.

MX-3S has 18 memories. You're used to CRX's control that's why the MX-3S's control seems confusing but it's actually not. Controls should be similar to MX3. Can download it's manual here.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.
