    Steering at moderate speed

I noticed that when my truck is travelling at a moderate speed (still at 1st gear), I cannot make a sharp turn...

Not that it will topple over... but the turning radius becomes ridicullous HUGE.....

Is this because the stock servo is not strong enough? Asking becuase I don't want to invest in a high torque servo before comfirming this is the actual problem...
    huh

What car you driving..? MT usually have wide steering due to the Mass..

      That's normal

One thing can try.. is there a spring on the servo saver? Try to tighten it or change to a harder spring. Also move the linkage to the inner hole on the servo horn ... ie outer hole on servo side, inner hole on steering horn side.

Warning... doing this will stress the servo, take note of the EPA

      Hope this helps

slightly faster, I turn at 10m radius or more....

              Tmax chassis assembly

Seems like the spring in the servo saver (3744) is too soft

You know the specs of the hi-torque Traxxas 2055 steering servo? 80oz/ in! Not sure if they measure in 4.8V or 6.0V.

Now lets see the hu-hum Hitec 625 servo which most MT ppl will not even look at when getting a steering servo for their MT. Torque (4.8V/6.0V) = 76/94.

If Traxxas use 4.8V as measurement, their hi-torque servo is slightly better than Hitec 625. If they use 6.0V, it can't smell the 625.

Looks like high torque is used very loosely here! That's why when they teach you how to test the steering servo, they instruct you to lift the front up!

Time to get 945 lah....or VB.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

I use 18kg hitec digital servo and i still feel not enough torque to control the savage4.6.

Er......dun expect it to corner like F1. The law of physics still applies. Just like cornering with a dump truck is different from cornering with an Elise, even at 60kmh.......

                      Er.....problem solved?

Was playing my T-Maxx a few days ago. On the initial cranking, smoke came out from the EZ Starter motor. I thought the motor's gone case. After cooling down it started as if nothing happened. Anyway, I think it's about time to change motor. I wonder if I can use other (read cheaper ) 400 sized motor.

if its a speed 400 motor, you can just dump in a a new one. if its 540 class just get a new one from winnie.. cheap and good.
i'm a rc sotong. And i know nuts about it.

Looks like a 400 motor. You know where to get a competitively priced one? Hahahahaha....politically correct.

Dunno if those I saw at SLT can be used or not.
