    SLA Charging query

    Hi guys.

Recently got meself a swallow advanced charger, works well with my other batteries xcept my 12v SLA, when i try to charge, it stops afer a second and goes to the "end" screen.

I read in an earlier post that the supply voltage must be more that the batt?

Pardon my ignorance, my charger draws 11+ volts from the modified PC psu and the batt is well 12v? Could this be why?

Other alternative i guess is cos the 12v has gone back to battery land...

    Any inputs welcome

    All the best'

    Hi Nick,

I don't have this charger but was wondering if you had set the charger for 6 cells (i.e. 12V) ?

    Hope this helps.

      Hi Nick,

I'm selling an ATX PSU modified to be used in RC chargers for SGD50. You can try it and if it doesn't work with your charger, I'll refund your money back within 3 days. Or better still, bring your charger during pick up and lets test it. I've got all the equipment at home for testing. If you are satisfied, then you decide . I've sold a lot already and all my customers are happy with the PSU. Still have one unit left for sale. The specifications of my PSU are as follows.

      Output voltage: 13.2Volts
      Max load current: 13Amps
      Input voltage: 110/220Vac

You can refer to the following threads for more information:

It is because the voltage from your psu to your charger lower than the voltage from your sla to the charger.
