Hmm just wondering, how does the Traxxas watercooling device for the esc work?
It's not a pump of any sort....and I can't figure out any possibility of how it work except that when the ESC heats up the device that couples onto the ESC cooling heatsink, heat will increase the pressure inside, resulting in the pumping action....am i right?
Can't seems to find any proper info on how the cooling device works.
Anyone knows?

Works as the same principle as the cooling coil. You need a water pickup (black thingy) to drive the water along the tube. As water passes through the 'heat exchanger' (grey thingy), it will draw heat away from the ESC. Of course the 'heat exchanger's' fins has to be in contact with the ESC's fins for heat to transfer well. Water will leave at the other end.
Do I make sense? :L :L :L

so am i right to say that it works based on kinetic energy of the moving boat? and not thru any pump of any sort??

not sure if a boat has a clutch, if not, then the cooling is driven all the time as the water pickup is just aft of the prop.

i know real boats have clutch, and the pump works witht he engine....most nitro boats use the engine as a pump as well...but we're talking about EP boats here... :D

No pump. The speed of boat through water forces water into the pickup and along the tube through the cooler.

Generally EP boat has no clutch and some GP boats has clutch.
However, all cooling system works the same way, via a pickup.
