Using 4ch RX without BEC with Cars

Need to know if anyone using their plane TX units to run cars?

I'm thinking of throwing in my spare Futaba R114 rx into my rc cars to try, but how can I supply power to the RX unit since the R114 have got BEC?

Can I just mod the connectors and plug the power source into either of the unused channels in the R114?

use plane tx to run on nitro can, but electric I don't know...used to have a 8channel one in a car and it worked perfectly fine...

It's definitely possible, just that I'm not familir with the BEC connection & voltage to supply the power to R114 receiver.
