    OS Engine with Tmaxx mounting

Gosh.. never knew OS engine is that good....

The stupid Traxxas 2.5 Engine.... carb is plastic.. and the screw thread strip so easily.

And worst is the cooling head... it is made of aluminum.
When I screw in the glow plug.... it rip off all the threads....

    No spares found at rotor....

Anyone know where can I get a replacement engine that I can drop into the Tmaxx without mod? Pull start is ok....
    huh

Duh....you are in trouble. T-Maxx's engine mounting is different, so a replacement 'drop in' engine is difficult to find here. Looks like you've gotta look at Towers.

Good carbs are made of composite material, not metal. This is to minimise heat transmission to the carb.

I believe all heat sinks are made of alu too. Er...must have beed some strength you used to screw the plug.

Actually the TRX 2.5 is considered to be one of the most powerful engines of that class, so if you're replacing it with another .18 engine, you'll get a reduction in performance. Unless you upgrade to .21 class! But must look for one that can be 'drop-in'.
For some people it's important to show what they have, for others it's sufficient to know that they have it.

Shoot.....dun have my TMaxx with me now so can't visualize what you're tokking about. OK, so I assume it's not the high and low needle. What's the screw size? 2.6mm or 3.0mm?

Cheapest is Megatech, but I think it's the least powderful too.

Hmmmm......that screw is BIG. Is it's function just to hold the high needle or to plug the hole? If it's just to plug the hole, you can use some RV sealant(a bit will do) on the thread and slowly screw in. It should be air-tight then and the RV sealant also prevents it from working it's way loose.

Let's hope it's not the mid needle.

the screw is just to plug the hole...

I thought put some CA to seal it...

but the silly thing is the heat sink..
to get it ship from tower... ain't that cheap...
                        huh

OK, saw the complete carb pic. Think you can safely use RV sealant here.
