Hi,
Wish to get some opinions for hpi nitro car kits.
I am quite intrested in the nitro rs4 3 18ss....

Tai sing is selling it at S$550

They are also selling the sanwa mx-3 / sanwa mx-3s ( can`t remember which one ) for S$300. is anyone using it here? The servos that come with the kit are the suitable for 1/10 nitro cars? Can anyone recommend a good place to buy radio set ( meaning cheaper )? What other radio sets are suitable for nitro cars?

$550 is not cheap. Like Icon said, check with Winnie. :up OK, for the Radio set, get MX3S. It's a synthesized set, meaning you don't have to bother about crystals.

.18 engine too and they claimed it goes >60mph out of the box! :z RTR set. Rotor selling at $515.60. If you are member, you can get 5% discount! :D

Don't know much abt traxxas. But getting a car from Rotor is something i would think carefully as 1. they don't know anything abt the cars they sell 2. they may or may not carry the spares.

Support for the car is very impt.

I still haven't come across a LHS in SG that carry EVERY sparepart for EVERY model they sell.

actually i recalled winnie has done the same for me and a friend for our hobao stuff.

as we know, winnie stock lots of parts for her hobao stuff. but needless to say, sometimes stock finish liao. I remember for me, she took out the part from a rtr H7 and sell me. for my friend, she took out the whole crank shaft from a brand new engine to sell him. Quite steady i must say......as long as she dun tell me to wait 2 weeks.... :L :L :L :L

It's good to know which LHS have parts/hopups coz things will break and sometimes you'll want it fast.

Online purchase is just another avenue to get stuffs but will never able to replace the LHS.

I do see that Hobby place, Hobbybug, Toykar, Hobby paradise, BK, stargek and Pafic model (SLS) have got comprenhensive range of spares or hopups of the cars they sell :D

Dont sure abt the price there. When i was there i felt that they were abit unwelcoming. But when i hear him tolk phone to oversea (think indonesia or malaysia) client they like very friendly. Some how my gut feeling tell me he treats local differently. Then agian to be fair to him i did not really ask for anything. Just that when i look ard the very cramped shop he like give me the you want to buy or not look.

Well I know for sure that HB bring in some kyosho spares when TK doesn't have it in stock or does not want to bring it in. Especially optional part that racers uses like pinon gear. I guess they have to as they got to support their own team. LOL. :L :L

Of cos they do. But TK don't bring in all spares. But have to agree with you. HB knows their Kyosho. Especially if you race. When i say they got good support for Kyosho Cars, I don't mean all the models.

I should re phrase my statement. HB does have very good support for Kyosho 1/10 touring cars. Which at the moment means the V1 series and the FW05 series. Althought i think the older V1s will be facing shortage of spares soon.

HKG har ? well it's a secret hobby shop here that only "members" know abt and they have very good lobangs. Most don't disclose their location as the auhorise dealer will take legal action against HKG hobby shop... their prices are .. how can i say... below cost??????

Try RC Mart (http://www.rcmart.com/) I think this is one of the popular shop... but i don't order stuff from overseas. Not that hardcore yet and so far the LHS have the support i need.

TAMADE!!! :furious GO there kena the look from him like wanna buy then buy, If don't want buzz off look. further more told him he quote me 154 yesterday on the phone. He told me where got. TAMADE!!! :furious no discount somemore. I go stargek , taiseng, hobbylink all got good service and discount. LAN LAN bought the box since i can't find any in singapore. SOMEMORE NO NETS!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!! :bh

But when you add stuffs, the freight don't just go exponentially up. :L :L :L Like a kit's freight is $33, two kits is $37 and after adding some spares, it's still $37.

So wat cost 17 freight. :D

Stock kyosho parts they get from TK... others like mugen, 3racing bla bla.. I nono where they got it from :D
If want kyosho parts, try to go after a race as they reserve many many parts for their races :bh
