Accuired a Savage SS K4.6 KIT w (.28 engine) last night.... :D

Now I need to know what other servos I can use for the steering? 13kg type were sold out at Winnies. Any Futaba type to recommed? I was told not to use Hitec for steering. Let me know. Thanks. :)

Why can't use Hitec for steering? :freak: I'm using HS945 for my MT's steering, no failure or glitches. Is it the Futaba for car and Hitec for plane type of belief?

Can the Hitec HS945 fit the Sanwa Rx? I can't even remember the model of the transmitter but it has a synthesizer band adjustment...

winnie will tell you the failure rate is high when she dun sell it lah!!! Thats winnie lah. take her comment with a pinch of salt ok. dun believe, you go and ask her to compare revo with savage or LST, she sure say revo cannot make it and as if she plays it.

the good thing abt hitech is that the spare gears are readily available. so if you strip a gear, you can always replace it easily. Go to rotor and look at a servo that has readily available spare gear and grab that servo, even if it has a high failure rate which it DOES NOT have, you are assured that parts can be replaced easily.

I am using Sanwa 311 with the 945. Most probably you have the MX3S.

Think you can use the standard servoes for the throttle/brake and reverse. If not strong enough, then get better ones. And the 625/645 is more than enough for throttle/brake application.

Think can try the 475 first. Just a bit stronger than standard servoes. Between 625 and 645, you might want to consider 625 coz it's faster. Afterall you don't want a delayed response when you gun the throttle. :L :L :L

625 already has 6.8kg/cm torque at 6V. Should be strong enough.

Think the only difference inside the servo is the gearing. One geared for torque and the other for speed. I'll choose the 645 myself too. :up

Yet stop when it breaks, I had a melted gearbox last week, repaired and today my rear diff metal gear strip...my savage is running too hot....!!!

Dismantling the Diff gear is a super pain in the neck...told literately every screw off to get the gears...its Tai Seng again tomorrow..!!

Since you are replacing the diff, you may want to consider using silicone diff fluid instead of grease. :up

Grease will just coat lightly on the gears once it's running, so you will get too much diff action.

the optima MID SE is also running stong....hehehe.....but i sianz of EP liao...cause batt always need to charge...limited to number of batt( how big your pocket is to buy extra batt)...........GP...just top up and go....lol....round after round...

yes it drifts alright!...some have told me that its coz of the shorter wheelbase that makes it drift quite well.....plus you can adjust them diffs to help snap into a drift....
