New lithium batts at that hobby shop

i was down at that hobby shop today and got word from the owner chris that new lipos will be coming in tmr. he told me there will be a special introductory price of 50bucks for 2cells, afterwhich will be priced at 60. he gave me a demo flight, comparing between his new cells and a kokam and etec pack. the power from the new cells are really phenominal. its performance exceeds that of an etec, and it maintains its top performance for almost twice the time of an etec. with a brushless, it enabled his plane to literally climb like a rocket.

the batt comes with an onboard balancing function, but should be used only with a suitable balencing charger. chris requests that you guys identify yourselves as from daddyhobby...

How I wish I can get hold of Fuel Cell. Using fuel Cell for R/C might be very common in the coming future.

Brandon, any idea if they have 3S? 2S? and how many amps is it?

Super Hornet, i dun think fuel cells will be available as power source for helis that soon.. its still under research stage and it cant provide very high currents which helis require..

i was told they come in 1200, and 2 and 3 cells.

The battery pack (2s and 3s) come with balancing sensor too.

The charger with balancing feature will coming in next week. Only 2 cell charger at the moment, 3 cells charger need to wait... .

All the cells are "matched" before assemble so it make the pack to perform better.

we already try this battery pack on plane...now we are looking for heli flyer that have both below:

1. stock heli with-out any modification. (any brand)
2. Heavy modify heli with brushless motor.

I think the most suitable person to try those batts be it on stock or heavily mod micro heli should be Fit..... He had been fiddling so long on batts and motor combi. U gave him the cell and he will tell you how it perform compare to the rest of the cell

I have a modded feda to the max that i using etec 1200 on and get about 12 min out of each one.

I have IPS tail, hacker b20-26 copy, p10, 14 tooth pinion, al tail boom,gy240, pro paddles, ti fly bar, fp cf hornet blades...ect ect I dont think you can do to much more to in the name of performance...maybe a diet !! lol

Would be interesting to see just how it compares to the Etecs HP.
My hornet falls into the stock category. Its stock with no hop ups other than a BL power plant.
Tele can test for the heavily modified category thats for sure!

Sounds like they could be the polyquest packs and chargers.

You don't need a balancing circuit. The circuit is in the charger, what u need is sensor wire from your battery pack.

sensor wire = balancing wire.

If u buy JK AmpVolts battery pack, you will found 1 blue wire on 2s1p and 2 wire (blue and white) on 3s1p.

All this wire are use to balance up each cell in a pack when charging (Using Charger with balancing feature).

Our target ........will get Dean connector as JK AmpVolts battery pack standard connenctor. I will let you all know if AmpVolts can support that .

I am wondering whether the comparison was made between the new battery with Kokam high discharge and Etec HP or the old Kokam and Etec cells.

Current Etec HP is 8.5C to 20C. What is the new battery discharge rate? 8C? Full throttle at 18A? Etec HP could go up as high as 24A. Where is it made? Why do you need to balance the cells every time you charge them. The cells don't provide a constant discharge? And you need to balance them every time you charge them? And if you don't balance them, will they give you any problems? And you have to buy another charger to charge them?

These are the questions that you have to ask yourself before investing on them.
