Hi Guys,

You should check on this month's RC Car Magazine. Review of the Spectrum is that first batch of Spectrum has some problems.

But if any of you guys out there do have a spectrum, Spectrum is more than willing to take it back and resolve the problem for you.

Cheers,
Calvin

Excerpt from RC Tech Forums - Singapore RC Racers

Spektrum DSM full range of product is distributed exclusively by JPLRACING in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. JPLRACING is a direct partner of Spektrum.

In Singapore you can buy these from hobby shops only.
As you may know, alot of the older / testing batch do have issues. However, the latest 'distribution ready' stocks have these issues elimated altogether.

To differentiate these new "distribution ready" stocks we have placed "jplracing/spektrum" stickers on the box for your convenience.

A player called me just now to complain of some "real" issues with his spektrum that he bought from a LHS. He confirmed it was working at the shop and when at home but now some known problems cropped up !! After checking it's confirmed to be an older batch from US. so pls note !!

There are some discussions on Spektrum on the Malaysia thread relating to performance etc . . you may want to have a look.

Thanks for looking.

email me if you have any question :

For those interested to see the Spectrum in action. Come down to Novena Sq this Sunday 8th May for the 1st Round 2nd Race of the Kyosho Cup race.

There will be at least 4 Spectrum users running in this race.

Oi FUse you flying which plane with a "gun" transmitter??? Glider har??

Also err... you got read Spectrum FAQ???

Why is it "surface only"?
Surface and air operations are very different in nature. The current system is designed to be used only with surface models. The module will not work with air transmitters. Do not operate on any aircraft - parameters are different for flight. We are looking at these matters, but right now, there is no telling if reliable aircraft operations can be attained.

Alright! It works with my Tx! :) :up

http://www.spektrumrc.com/DSM/Default.html

Anyway, is it sold as a set for $285? As in Tx module and Rx module together? Or separately? Anyone know how much is the Rx unit?

Thank you! :)

Personally i don't have one. But 4 of the guys at HB already got it installed. Some experience slight glitching when the transmitter is too close to the car. EG: setting up. Running of the car so far no one experience any problems. Unfortunately the last Kyosho Cup race was cancelled. Thus unable to tell you the race performance.

Next race at HPRC 29th May should have a number of Spectrum running as HB sold a number of such units. If that race get cancelled, then the next Kyosho race is on the 5th of June at Novena Sq.

I guess batts consumption can only tell you after the 29th race.
