    simulators

do you guys make use of simulators when learning how to hover?
what kind of sim do you use?

I didn't use a sim till I could figure 8...couldn't afford a good one...IMHO...Realflight G2 is the best and most realistic...

Simulator is tougher than my R30, cause my R30 is configured for beginners, while the sim is not.

I am trying to get my ff turns smooth on the G2, still having problems esp when it's far away.
Just got my R50V2 ytd and taking my own sweet time with the build. wonder if i can even hover it in real life.

Thanks! I got it by luck, apparently somebody ordered 4 kits but something didn't work out somehow so walter let me have it.

gonna need a lot of advice from you experts in near future!

Ammo: if you have hovered a micro before, then the raptor is no problem at all... its just a matter of getting used to the sensitivity.

i love my sim...helped me alot. only problem is that what you can see is only on your com screen, so sometimes things get kinda hard to see and you cant judge things visually.

Hey plasma you should try what's probably one of the most well engineered sims : microsoft flight sim !

Assemble an interface and configure things to work with MSFS and use your TX.( an interface can be made for less than $5 bucks )

You probably have a much better chance finding a cheap copy of msfs ( if you know what i mean ) than a cheap copy of reflex or realflight. And you can fly from inside the heli, or use the control tower view for that rc feeling.

It can be as economical as FMS but with an ultra realistic flight model !
Of course the heli (jet ranger or jet ranger + r22 in ms2004) simulated is erm quite a bit bigger than a raptor and so handles as such.

But the fundamentals are the same.
It's not easy but that's not a bad thing eh ?

Anybody know where to get "cheap" realflight or simular By the way how you make a interface for TX to play with you MSFS parallel, serial or game port interface???

there is one type of interface i have heard of
called smartpropo. it is a software made to decode your signals emitted from your Tx into joystick signals. But i cannot get it to work without crashing my system.
