anyone got review for schulze isl6-330d?

    1) anyone got review for schulze isl6-330d? I'm prepared to spend $$$ and hope to get it this week.good or bad comments appreciated

    2) I have read the online manual and only know how to set up charge/discharge.I have no idea how to view charge info.(eg. charge time, batt.voltage, charge current, cell count, cell chemistry...etc.)while charging.
So is there any kind soul out there willing to share/post some pics on how the charger displays charge info since it's a single line display LCD unlike many others.

    3)This is most STUPID question.
Last minute decision change...should i go for this charger OR buy a triton AND Apache 2500??(your comments for question 1 apply)

    mmmmm

If you have the dough, get the Schulze....it will probably be the last charger you get. Then get an upgrade for a backlit display and you are all set to go for a long long long time. =)

As for the triton, i can't vouch for it as i have never own one.....my first charger was an Aurora Charger, back then when Lipo was a foreign word and 600AE and 500AR rules........there after i got a Schulze and never looked back.... =)

oh.....you maybe interested in another German company which makes charger, Orbit....they have a smallish charger...PocketLader....cost about USD$110....so it will be about the price for a Triton....i kinda of have a soft spot for it as it is 'small' compared to what i have now....only catch is it is only a 60W charger, okay for smallish packs.... =)

I've tried the schulze, triton and apache chargers. The schulze is good but for lipos, the voltage cutoff is 4.23v per cell and if there is a slight cell imbalance the schulze could bloat your cell. The other thing is sometimes the charger will not signal the end of charging even when it shows zero current in.If you are in the habit of topping up your lipos then the schulze could aggravate the imbalance problem as it will pump in more charge.Another disadvantage is the cell capacity selection is limited e.g for etec1700 you have to set 1500mah.The good thing is that it can charge 11s lipos and charge at 4amps max.
The advantage of the schulze is that it has a new cell formatting for nimh and nicad cells.Disadvantage is the discharge rate is limited to 1amp and the 2 buttons are little bit fiddly.Don't forget you're paying german wages for this box.Only schulze I might be interested in if I go crazy would be the 8-936 or the orbit microlader v6.3 pro.

The triton charges to 4.2/4.21 v per cell. It is very easy to program and the charge rate can be set precisely for the cell e.g 1700mah for the etec.Discharge is up to 3amps.Disadvantage is it can only charge up to 4s at 2.5amps.The control knob can be accidentally turned to a higher value when depressing to commence charge. Its good for nicads and nimh.

The apache is a great little charger. max 4s lipos at 2.5amps.Downside is the heatshrink is too small exposing components and possible short circuit. The cutoff/trickle voltage varies from model to model from 4.18 to 4.21.

I'm trying out an astro 109 and see how that goes although its a little fiddly too for the first few minutes.

Finally,if you intend on sticking to max 4s lipos, then the triton is perfect for the job.If you need to charge higher than 4s lipos and greater than 2.5amps than the schulze is the choice. The schulze has a slight advantage in charging nicads and nimh batts too but that advantage I feel doesn't justify the price difference. The triton is easier to set and the lcd readout is clear.
The apache is a basic goof proof charger. It doesn't tell you how much charge has been pumped in but who cares! It works well.
Just my opinion the final decision is yours ultimately.
